With so many things to do around this time of year it, it doesn’t hurt to get a little bit of help with the planning. Setting the Christmas table for dinner is one of the things that can get pushed to the bottom of the to do list. But setting the Christmas dinner table doesn’t have to be a chore. Today we’ve put together some of the fun but elegant ways to put together a Christmas table fit for a feast!
1. Find a Theme
Not always necessary but sometimes picking a theme for your table setting can really help you to narrow down your options. This makes decision making much easier. Are you going for a classic English Dickens Christmas type of setting, or perhaps something a bit more modern and fresh? Are you going with a set colour scheme of gold’s and greens or perhaps a more Scandinavian feel with reds and whites? Spending a little bit of time thinking about your table‘s overall look will really save you time once you get to laying everything out ready for the big day.

Now you don’t need dishes that can sing and dance to impress the guests! Even the simplest of dining sets can be turned into a magical setting with a little bit of help. With side plates, double layered plates and gleaming rows of cutlery either side you’ll create something truly spectacular! 6. Dining in a Winter Forest
Now for the really fun bit! Decorations! Time to turn this fancy dinner set into a winter wonderland! For this you can be as inventive and creative as you wish but here are a few staples to get you started. Flowers and foliage is a quick and easy way to make a table feel full, inviting and most importantly Christmassy! Fill your table with holly, ivy and pine to create a Narnia-esk forestry feel in your home. The fresh scents will also give your table another depth of Christmassy wonder. You could also fill little vases with snowdrops or sprigs of berry and thistle and dot them about the table for a look that’s elegant and sophisticated.
You can also sprinkle the table with fake snow and Christmas confetti to really make it glisten like freshly fallen snow! Go for gold and silver confetti and try find some with Christmas shapes like reindeer, holly and stars. These playful little touches will not go unnoticed and will give your table that extra layer of Christmas!
7. Crack out the Christmas Crackers!
Now it wouldn’t be Christmas with out some festive Christmas crackers! Lay them along the center of the table or next to each guests plate to be sure you have a enough for everyone!
8. Give Yourself Time
Last but not least don’t forget to give yourself plenty of time to set the table and also to run to the store in case you’ve forgotten anything. Setting the table a day or two early if you can is the way to go.
